Half A Dozen

August 26, 2009

1.
I should be going through texts and theories and absorbing them like a sponge right now because I have three tests lined up tomorrow. But I’d been doing that for the past few hours already. Need. Break. So HI, this is me, bleeding out my stress.

Don’t be mistaken though. ICPU is pretty damn enjoyable. We sing in classes and play games all the time. Everything is very hands-on. Not rote at all. :) And I’ve got awesome lecturers.

Hah. Just this tomorrow left, and then I have a week of holiday. But I don’t know if I could call this holiday a holiday at all. Everyone will be piled with homework assigned and ISUs. What happened to foodie road trip to Penang? AND Melaka? Sigh, sigh. Something has GOT to happen. WHAT ABOUT PHUKET!!!!! >:(

2.
Lunched with Joel today. He looked different. As if he had grown so much older in just a couple of months. I miss him a lot. And more so when he flees for Manchester in another fortnight.

3.
Life throws me half a dozen of lemons. I should only take one. But which? :(

4.
If anyone (actually, just Mom and Dad) concerns about my CGPA, re-lax. It’s in good hands. I did a brief semester planning and so far, it looks good. The lecturers will tell the same to you on PTA day, MOM. Yeah right, what the heck, they still have that in college. -___-

Speaking of which, Aunt Sam called just now. Yapped about my college life with her a bit. And then she started questioning me about my love life. Er.

5.
I’m going away this weekend to a jungle lodge! FOR GOOD! :)))

6.
Canada or America?

Whoever who missed this event on the weekend, shame on you! Because it was pretty damn good. ;) It started at 7pm (of Malaysian time, heh). Anyway, when I reached, Caprice was just getting the ball rolling.

The competition was intense. The crews had good routines. Well, most. It was generally enjoyable. Each crew had their own thing going on. The crowd was awesome too. I know a few who lost their voices from cheering. Lol. I was in front row, so I was deafened by the music instead. But most of all, I was proud that Taylor’s crew won – the Nasty Nerds! Their moves were more original than some. A deserving win. :) This might sound bias since I know them but no, I know they train hard. Good job to Cookie Monsters (runner-up) and Max Identity (second runner-up) too!

Nasty Nerds: (L-R) Roger, Hsien Ming, Alex, Ching Yu, Ken Ming

This is the best photo I have of the winning team. I’m not good with event photography, so my apologies. I’m more towards still life and portraiture. So yeah. Anyway. TDC blog will be updating more photos and videos on the event really soon. So go check them out. :)

Strawberry Fields Forever

August 20, 2009

We were studying Magic Realism on a short clip from Across The Universe (2007) in Advanced English today. It was the one when Jim Sturgess sang Strawberry Fields Forever. We were supposed to analyze the expressions of both the lyrics and images but… eh heh, Jim Sturgess was so distracting. So he became the magic realism element in the clip for me. :P

Lindsay has good taste. ;)

The Cake Says Haydarrr!

August 19, 2009

It was a past week of many missed opportunity. I forgotten a gathering of a club in college. I had to pass on MTV World Stage tickets and the after party invite. :( I missed Lester’s birthday celebration (they had lok lok!). The Musical Theatre Club was entirely postponed to the next semester wtf. :(

Veronica’s surprise birthday was pretty successful. We were all last minute. Like, literally! I brought balloons… which were meant to just create the party/happy atmosphere but we ended up all getting soaked. You’ll get what I mean. Ahem.

Coinci was on Brian’s beanie! Hehe!

Yng

Saeraaa… :)))

The cake says Haydarrr!

We had a water balloon fight! :P :P SO DAMN FUN.

I thought the “College is fun!” would wear off after a bit when the semester started, but it did not! I’m really really lucky, I guess. I have lecturers I can connect with. Even with lecturers who do not have classes with me, hah! Of course, I like how my social circle keep on maximizing. ;) So I’ve been pretty busy.

And very BUSY. There’re homework and assignments everyday! But at the same time, I enjoy them a lot. (So do I qualify to be a workaholic?) I’m becoming a sponge! I’m absorbing so much! I am learning so much more than I ever did in high school! Shame on the rote education system man. I haven’t been balancing out my time well enough though, but I will. :) As long as I like what I do, I’ll make it through, somehow.

So I’ll be trying to make it through the night now. I have to work on ISUs and then do more reading. I think every college student’s ideal tool would be a PDA. There’s just so much!
