In my attempt of being patriotic, I shall not say anything negative about Malaysia anymore. That is the most I can do when the rakyat is always complaining and stressing over anything there is from the cleanliness of mamak stalls to price hike of everything to scandalous politicians to inefficient police to unpunctual public transports.

Speaking of public transport, I took a bus from Mid Valley back to Subang Jaya the other day and saw this back of a seat:

Malaysia bukan tempat cari kesenangan

Stared in curiosity and wondered who penned this statement for the public eyes. I would have to agree though, that Malaysia is not a place for easy living because we are always striving to be better. Even under pressure of chaos and corruption, we still do. Really.

I believe everyone of us has our share of hardship and dissatisfaction. Maybe it is time to do something about it ourselves than just to rant, rant and rant. Because, honestly, nothing gets done quicker than to do it on your own.

Happy 51st Merdeka, home.

Sigh

August 30, 2008

Mom is suffering from Vertigo. This morning, she fell really ill. She could barely move, speak or hear. With the whitewashed face and her lips paled to green, she rested onto the bed. I felt really sad that I couldn’t help at all. She slept till dinner time.

I haven’t spoke to Dad for almost a week now because we are equally egoistic and tough-headed, and we stand unmoved for what we believe in.

You Are My Cupcake

August 30, 2008

Last Sunday night, I had a pretty fun-poking series of text messages from Teacher Melinda which went something like this:

“Hey, am at The Curve now. Was the cupcake place you bought cupcakes from Cupcake Chic? Want cake?”

“Oh, the ones I bought were from The Apartment, they sell Wondermilk cupcakes. Mabel had Cupcake Chic’s, she says it’s better! But I haven’t tried, SO YES PLEASE!!”

“Bought from Cupcake Chic. Don’t think the cupcakes will last till Friday’s tuition though. Will all be in my tummy by then. Haha, next time I’ll buy for you.”

So this got me itching to have cupcakes for the entire week. Teacher Melinda, you are so mean! Hahaha. I knew I had to have cupcakes this week if not, I would have to somehow bake them!

Since most of the cupcake stores are either down at SS2 or Damansara town, I had to resort to going to Mid Valley’s D’lish.

Did you know that they had cupcakes? Haha. Although not as fancy and plentiful as Wondermilk’s, I think they are pretty alright. So I entered the restaurant cafe and immediately got excited when I see those pretty cupcakes at the counter display.

Je Yue and myself ordered every taste that was available and did a good job at finishing them off. They were pretty and colourful and made me so happy!! Haha. The cupcakes were good, must’ve been some good batter.

There were cupcakes and baby cupcakes! Too cute, too cute!! Hahaha. The customer service was so-so, which I think the good food can make up to it!

How can I not buy some for you, Teacher Melinda? You are my cupcake! Haha. I also got another box for my sister. So yays! I plan to go around to taste all the cupcakes stores in town and downtown when my schedule is not so tight.

I think it is very nice to dine at D’lish because the food is very healthy. Oh this means I must bring Sheng there already! Hahaha. There was also another place I saw that day – ChaCha, I think Erik will like it there too! Haha. We shall all have healthy, yummy food!! Loves!

Movies, Back To Back

August 30, 2008

1. Watched The Love Guru with Sheng yesterday at Pyramid. It was bloody hilarious! Except for that part when Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) kissed Guru Pitka (Mike Myers). Haha. Opps, spoiler? Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) had a little some some yo.

Too bad it’s rated 18PL, so not everyone can pass? Heh.

2. I went bag hunting after movies because I want a new bag? Haha. So yeah, I saw this suitable bag that was practical and colour-matching easy!!! But Sheng distracted me with something else, so I didn’t buy it. I think it was Subway. Heh.

3. House is out of milk, can’t make smoothie. Sigh.

4. Not sure why, but I woke up so early today. Everyone at home was either asleep or out, was so bored. Called Mac to talk a bit before he was going to work. Sigh, bro, I miss you so much. I hope your problems will get some fix soon okay? Chin up!

5. Took a bus to and fro Mid Valley with Je Yue. I feel so independent! Heh. Because I don’t need Parents to drive me around all the time and public transport is actually not that bad. My only problem will be during peak hours when everyone crams in together, but that is also another kind of fun. Hahaha.

6. We watched Babylon AD. It is action-packed, but this futuristic movie makes no sense! But I do have to say, if our future gadgets are so awesome (like an touch screen map on paper, yeah, spoiler again, too bad!), I would love some of those fast forward goodies!! Apparently, Siberian tigers are going to extinct in 2017 too. Haha, another spoiler. I don’t care! Heh.

7. I ate a lot today. A LOT! First was the Carl’s Jr which had me gobbling down every bite because it was so delicious!! Then we had Italian ice-cream which tasted like heaven! (I want to have them now too!) After that, I fulfilled the purpose of going all the way to Mid Valley; to have cupcakes! Hahaha.

I will write about these after I wake up from dosing off from listing the updates.

8. In the midst of Add Math tuition, we talked about Finn’s terrible Primary Three experience, and then it went to Sports; running, hurdles, high jumps, long jumps, blablabla.

Being such chatty people, the conversation also went around how Beijing Olympic 2008 was and everyone must watch London Olympic 2012 because Lebam and I will be in the Taekwondo discipline! Hahaha. I wish. Still, must support Malaysia okay!!

Oh yeah, must pray I can juggle time well and kick ass better okay, because I want to get my black belt asap! One. More. Taeguk.

9. Went to Lebam’s place after tuition. We ate some chocolates and talked a lot. Mom came about an hour later? Haha, she’s always late! But that’s okay, more time to talk with this bestf.

10. Okay, damn tired now. It’s 1am plus already and my eyelids are getting heavier. If I don’t bunk any sooner, I’m going to have eyebags and Mom will know I stayed up. Haha, goodnight goodnight!

11. By the way, anyone watched the news? Budget 2009 is out! I think all the revision did for this one should be quite hopeful, although we can feel the inflation attacking a while ago already.

Good Green Tea Ice-Cream

August 29, 2008

By the looks of the exterior, I would say that it is mysterious and sophisticated. The interior was dimly lit. I was greeted by this clean-cut staff at the door, I was drawn in just like that. Besides myself, there was only another five customers at the center table, chatting endlessly. By the sound of their heavy accent, they are probably from Taiwan.

I immediately ordered a hot Sencha. After going through the menu which carries quite some premium prices, I only ordered an Unagi Roll and Kani Maki. It has more variety on raw dishes, but those are too overpriced for my lunch budget. Figured that what I ordered would be probably enough since I had an apple before that. But I was wrong.

Green Tea Ice Cream

I know lots of place have green tea ice-cream, but only this, I think that really does ooze the green tea flavour. The flavour is strong. Usually when I order green tea ice-cream, it melts really quick and the vanilla essence overwhelmes the taste. But this was different. Even after you’ve downed the ice-cream, the taste savours with sweetness with a slight bit of bitterness.

I never thought I’d write about this place till I tasted the green tea ice-cream. Haha, because the first time was a completely awkward encounter.

Anyway, one of the staffs was very keen on asking about my dSLR. He is planning to venture into photography too. So when he asked for my advice about getting his very first dSLR, I got so excited! Hahaha. We conversed around the same topic for a good few minutes.
